Obama over the Weekend
On Friday the President of the United States announced several new members of his economic team, they were happy that the unemployment rate fell from 9.8% to 9.4%. In the other hand, Obama spoke by phone on Saturday 9, 2011 to Mark Kelly, Rep. Gabrielle Gifford's husband. Obama expressed his deep concern and full support for the family. Today, January 9 our President welcomes vote on Southern Sudan Independence he said the week-long-vote which is expected to result in Africa's largest country being split into two "represented a new chapter in History".

Obama ask Republicans to help him
Obama calls upon Republicans to help him revitalize the U.S economy, he said that Democrats and Republicans should be partners in the effort of bringing the economy up. Obama said that his 2011 resolution was to do everything he could to make sure that our economy is growing, creating jobs and strengthening our middle class. He argued that lawmakers also must continue making investments that will ensure the nation's long term prosperity.
The Dream Act dies on Senate
The Dream Act bill who was supposed to be voted on, Saturday December 18 didn't pass. It received only 55 votes out of 60 needed. Forty-one senators voted no. The dreams of many illegal immigrants died along with the act, this act would have allowed illegal immigrants to apply for citizenship if they entered the U.S as children, graduated from high school, and have been in the United States for five years, but now their hope has gone.
